Exploring Life at NLU-Odisha

After a year of rigorous work and effort, I found myself at NLU-Odisha. Having a single occupancy room was a bliss. Our classes from 10 to 2 in the afternoon ensure we are a happy and cheerful bunch after four hours of rigorous study.

Embracing Diversity

In the beginning, sessions by seniors helped us understand the college and develop lasting relationships with colleagues and seniors. The dynamic, multicultural environment was a new experience for me, with people from all over the country contributing to a melting pot of cultures.

Friendship and Hobbies

I've made numerous friends, and after class, we have ample time to indulge in our hobbies and interests. Various committees host interactive sessions revolving around their aims and operations, allowing students to apply based on their interests.

Academic Environment

The library, open till 3 in the morning, sees students studying and researching in the wee hours. I'm gradually adapting to this routine. The moot court culture provides exceptional learning experiences, with seniors guiding us through every step, from formatting and research to argument framing.

Balanced Syllabus and Opportunities

Project submissions are divided into clusters, with a balanced syllabus for mid-semester and end-semester exams, aiding gradual preparation. The college encourages extracurricular and sporting activities, with facilities for football, cricket, basketball, and volleyball.

Enhanced Learning

The college offers credit and certificate courses for further knowledge enhancement. Subjects like Torts and Legal History form a significant portion of the syllabus, challenging and mesmerizing students as they delve deeper.

Camaraderie and Exchange

Sports competitions with other law colleges foster camaraderie and facilitate the exchange of thoughts and ideas. Surprisingly delicious hostel food adds to the overall experience.

Conclusion: A Year of Growth

In the first year, I've learned and understood a lot, enhancing my knowledge of various societal segments and their relation to law. It has broadened my perspective, enabling me to evaluate minute details from a broader lens.
